Terms of Use
The agreement between you and Cairn Guide, LLC when you use Cairn. Here is the short version first, then the full terms.
Draft. This terms has not been reviewed by an attorney yet and may change. If this summary and the full terms ever differ, the full terms is what counts.
The short version
- This is the agreement for using Cairn. It is between you and Cairn Guide, LLC, a New Hampshire company. Using Cairn means you agree to these terms and to the Data Privacy and Data Security Policies. You must be 18 or older.
- Cairn is an AI guide, and it gives no advice of any kind. It is not a lawyer, accountant, financial advisor, doctor, or therapist. It points you to official sources and tells you when you need a real professional, but it can make mistakes, so check anything important with the right office or a professional. Cairn gets no referral fees from anyone it mentions.
- Cairn helps you research funeral options. It does not book them. It helps you find and compare providers and shows prices only when a provider posts them online. You always contact providers yourself, and prices can be out of date.
- Cairn will never pretend to be the person who died. It will never imitate their voice, image, or way of talking, even if you ask.
- Start with a free trial, no card needed. Your trial begins when you start your first journey. After it ends, you need a subscription to keep adding and updating tasks. If you don't subscribe, your account becomes read-only, nothing is deleted, and nothing is charged.
- One price covers your whole account. The price, with tax included, is shown before you subscribe. Payments go through Stripe, and the subscription renews until you cancel. You can cancel any time in Settings and keep full access until the end of the period you paid for. There are no refunds.
- You can always leave, for free. Closing a journey, downloading your information, and deleting your account never cost anything. After you ask to delete your account, you have 3 business days to change your mind, then it is gone for good.
- Cairn is not an emergency service. If you are thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988. Cairn will always point you to help, but it does not contact anyone on your behalf.
- Your information belongs to you. Cairn uses it only to help you, and never for ads or marketing.
- Please use Cairn fairly. Don't pretend to be someone you're not, try to get into anyone else's case, copy Cairn's content with bots, or open extra accounts for more free trials.
- There are limits on what Cairn owes you. Cairn is provided "as is." If something goes wrong, the most Cairn can owe you is what you paid in the last 12 months, or $100, whichever is more, as far as the law allows.
- Disagreements start with a conversation. New Hampshire law applies. If you have a dispute, you agree to contact Cairn first to try to work it out. How any remaining dispute would be decided is still being worked out.
